Invitation ========== The VdS Section SPECTROSCOPY will hold its annual Spectroscopy Conference April 29 to May 1, 2016 at the weekend in Berlin. We invite all astronomers interested in spectroscopy, especially beginners and young colleagues, to this meeting. A VdS membership is not necessary. With presentations and a session of posters and equipment we discuss open questions and problems. Berlin The conference takes place in Berlin-Adlershof, the Scientific Location in the capital of Germany. Ten non-university research facilities, six scientific institutes of the Humboldt University, around 1,000 companies and a rich history are located here. Numerous astronomically orientated public and research institutions in the city and Potsdam can be reached from there. The meeting place, the hotel "Dorint Adlershof", is right in this area in the South-East of Berlin close to the motorway (Rudower Chaussee 15, 12489 Berlin-Adlershof, http://hotel-berlin-adlershof.dorint.com/en/) Here we find the best opportunities for our meeting: a large lecture hall, accommodation and good food (details and prices, see below). Transportation connection We have chosen Berlin to make a comfortable journey possible, this time especially for our guests from northern and central Germany and neighboring countries. Berlin-Adlershof is easily accessible by car (Highway A113), by trains or by plane via the airports Tegel and Schönefeld. From Berlin?s main train station you can use public transport. Funding Students and pupils may apply for discreet support from our Youth Fund. Conference programme The conference starts on Friday evening with a dinner. Afterwards, you have the opportunity to meet old friends or get acquainted with other participants, to talk and relax in a casual atmosphere with a glass of beer or good local wine. On Saturday and Sunday morning interesting lectures, posters and devices are presented. The conference is held in German and English. The conference ends after lunch on Sunday. We want to organize an excursion to the Leibniz-Institut für Astrophysik Potsdam AIP and historical highlights of astronomical research in Potsdam on Monday after the conference. Therefore we must know who is interested in this event. Please, inform us until the end of registration. There are 9 air-conditioned single room with shower / WC and 111 air-conditioned double room with shower / WC (also for single use). Rooms are allocated according to order of registration. If the desired room in the conference center is not available, you will be notified; optionally available hotels / inns in the area a few minutes drive is available, we will call you on request. Call for Speaker Aspekt 2016 in Berlin From April 29 to May 1 2016, the VdS section SPECTROSKOPY will organize their annual Spectroscopy Conference, this time in Berlin. You need not be an expert, short reports are important for the success of our conference too. There are no limitations regarding the contents of your spectroscopic contribution.
